Mr Green Limited and the UKGC

As a UK-facing casino brand, Mr Green Limited holds a UK Gambling Commission licence under account number 39264. The licence is valid and up-to-date, but in March 2023, the UK Gambling Commission added conditions to Mr Green’s licence, ordered it to divest funds, and agreed for the company to make a settlement payment in lieu of a fine. This came after a compliance review of Mr Green’s operations.

The operating review concluded that the risk assessments Mr Green performed on its customers were insufficient to prevent money laundering. It further found that Mr Green Limited had failed to interact with its customers in a way that minimises the risk of problem gambling occurring and allowed players to hold more than one account with the company without taking the appropriate measures to relate the accounts. Mr Green Limited was ordered to divest itself of £218,310 and paid a settlement of £3.75m.
