Stake’s UK launch and closure

The international Stake brand dates from 2017, while its British operation came later. TGP announced the Stake.uk.com partnership on 8 December 2021. That separate domain is central to the history: the UK service was operated through a local licensing arrangement, whereas the familiar Stake.com name was also used in international marketing. A description of one version should not automatically be applied to the other.

The Commission’s Stake notice followed an investigation into a widely viewed branded video filmed outside Nottingham Trent University. It said TGP would remove links redirecting visitors from Stake’s main website to the British platform. That was a specific action concerning Stake’s UK route, two months before the wider TGP surrender.

TGP Europe: operator, platform and brand

TGP Europe, also styled The Gaming Platform, is the company recorded at 22A Castle Street in Douglas, Isle of Man. Its British register entry dates casino and betting permissions from November 2014, with gambling-software permission added in February 2015. Those licence dates describe the regulated activities; they should not be mistaken for the incorporation date of every brand using the platform.

Its white-label model allowed a consumer brand to use an operating business under its own name. The operator handled the regulated gambling relationship while the visible brand supplied the identity. Historically, the service combined account administration, payments, compliance and customer management with third-party betting and casino content. The former product description identified Altenar’s sportsbook and Pragmatic Play games. These are supplier roles, distinct from the company named on the licence.

This explains why several differently named sites could have similar menus and game selections. A shared platform can create a family resemblance without making the brands one company or giving them interchangeable accounts. It also explains why an operator-wide regulatory action can affect numerous brands at once. Calling them former “sister sites” is shorthand for that British operating connection, rather than a claim about the ownership of their international businesses.

Every address in this table is inactive under TGP’s register entry. The complete domain record contains 24 rows, including Stake itself and multiple addresses for some brands. It is therefore not a list of 24 distinct alternatives. Other recorded names include BetVision, Duelbits, Sportsbet.io, SportPesa, SBOTOP, BJ88, DEBET, Kaiyun, Nova88 and TLCBet. A domain count and a count of separately operated products answer different questions.

Fun88: the closest historical comparison

Fun88’s former British sportsbook-led presentation resembled Stake’s. The historical account described a compact casino alongside betting, rather than the much larger international crypto catalogue sometimes associated with Stake. That is a product comparison of the old British services, not evidence that either former TGP route is open today.

Its football connection has a precise chronology. Newcastle United’s June 2023 announcement says Fun88 had been principal sponsor from the 2017/18 season for six campaigns, then became its Asian betting partner. The relationship therefore began years before the club’s later resurgence. Shirt exposure helps explain British recognition of the name, but does not establish the scale of its UK customer base or the quality of its withdrawals.

BC.Game and BK8: brand names need exact domains

BC.Game’s former British address was bcgame.uk. The .uk suffix is useful when reading old account emails or reviews because a report about the international BC.Game product may concern a different operator and different payment terms. Its place in this historical group comes from the recorded TGP domain, not simply from sharing a cryptocurrency association with Stake’s international branding.

BK8 illustrates a different counting problem: both bk8.uk and bk8now.uk appear in TGP’s inactive list. Two domain records do not demonstrate two independent sister casinos. For a historical account query, the exact address and the company named in the original terms are more useful identifiers than the number of sites claimed in a comparison table.

12BET and 6686 Sports

12bet.uk belongs in the same former-operator history. For 6686 Sports, there is also a dated launch record: TGP’s July 2023 announcement introduced 6686sports.co.uk as a combined sports and casino website and identified the brand as Wolverhampton Wanderers’ sleeve sponsor. It joined the platform after Stake’s December 2021 launch.

The comparison is useful because it shows how the network added different consumer names around a similar sports-and-casino proposition. Stake’s Everton banner, Fun88’s Newcastle association and 6686’s Wolves sleeve placement gave each a separate football identity. Those distinctions are part of their marketing history; the former British operating link remained TGP Europe.

Football visibility after the UK shutdown

The November 2022 UK screenshot places Everton prominently beside Stake’s name. That connection has continued in another form: Everton announced on 30 June 2026 that Stake would become its sleeve partner from 2026/27 after four seasons as main partner. The agreement also described continued stadium and digital branding. A continuing football partnership therefore does not mean the former stake.uk.com service has reopened.

Separately, the Premier League’s April 2023 agreement withdrew gambling sponsors from the front of matchday shirts from the end of 2025/26. Its scope was shirt-front sponsorship, not every commercial appearance of a gambling brand. That distinction explains how a logo may remain visible while its placement changes. It also avoids attributing TGP’s 2025 regulatory exit to a later shirt rule.

The former Stake UK website

The layout put sport first without hiding the casino. The three introductory columns separated betting on real fixtures from reel games and simulated events. Live Games was another navigation route, so the site’s range was broader than slots alone. Compared with a casino homepage arranged around rows of game thumbnails, this design explained its product categories before asking the visitor to browse individual titles.

Historical offers and betting features

The former UK product account did not identify a welcome bonus at the time it was described. That is a dated observation, not a statement that Stake never ran promotions in any country. The same account recorded an Acca Boost for accumulators with at least five selections, with the boost varying by the number of legs. Such a conditional return enhancement differed from a cash gift for opening an account.

Bet Builder was described as combining up to six markets from the same event. The distinction from an ordinary accumulator is the relationship between the selections: an accumulator can combine separate fixtures, while a builder combines outcomes within one fixture. Availability depended on the event and markets offered. This was a betting facility, not a free bonus or a way to remove the possibility of losing the stake.

Full and partial cash-out were also part of the historical account. Full cash-out settles the whole position at the offered value; partial cash-out settles a portion while leaving the rest exposed to the result. An early settlement can lock in a loss or sacrifice a later winning return, so the feature should not be described as guaranteed risk reduction. It was subject to availability rather than a right to exit every bet at any moment.

The old football campaigns linked to Everton and Watford described paying qualifying win bets when the sponsored side scored twice but failed to win. Those team-specific terms were different from a general early-payout promise covering every match. The two-goal condition was the distinctive feature of these former campaigns. They do not establish an open promotion, a present entitlement or eligibility for a new British account.

Games in the historical casino

The former UK catalogue was described as roughly 300 slots with a strong Pragmatic Play presence, alongside live casino and virtual sport. Pragmatic Play’s 3 Genie Wishes uses five reels, four rows and 50 paylines. Those names describe different treatments of wild symbols within the feature, rather than three separate welcome offers. The blue-genie theme is part of the game’s presentation; it does not establish a licensed connection to a particular film.

3 Kingdoms: Battle of Red Cliffs

The developer describes 3 Kingdoms: Battle of Red Cliffs as a five-reel, three-row game with 25 lines. Cao Cao, Liu Bei and Sun Quan appear with stacked armies; clashes contribute points towards the Spoils of War feature, and the generals become wild during free spins. The distinguishing feature is that character interaction, rather than the generic promise of a higher return. A theme or bonus animation alone cannot tell a player how a particular session will end.

5 Lions

The original 5 Lions has a five-by-three base layout and golden-lion wild multipliers. Pragmatic Play describes multipliers up to 40 times and a bonus triggered by three to five scatters, with free-spin and multiplier options. An extra row of three symbols appears during the feature. This is the original game, so the rules of 5 Lions Megaways or another sequel should not be substituted for it.

The closed Stake installation’s specific return-to-player configuration is not established by these general game descriptions. A developer’s general product description does not establish which configuration an individual casino used. Nor does a higher published percentage mean a short session is likely to produce a profit. The useful historical comparison is the different reel layouts and feature structures, without turning an unverified configuration into a precise claim.

Regulatory actions in 2023 and 2025

On 5 April 2023, the Commission announced a £316,250 penalty for TGP’s anti-money-laundering and social-responsibility failures, alongside a warning and added licence conditions. Findings included inadequate responses to repeated safer-gambling alerts and weaknesses in checking white-label business relationships. These were regulatory findings about the operator’s controls, not a conclusion that every game result was manipulated.

The May 2025 announcement described a further £3.3 million penalty and required improvements if TGP wanted to continue in Britain. It identified failures involving partner ownership, sources of funds and money-laundering risks. TGP surrendered its licence. This later operator-wide exit should be read alongside the earlier Stake-specific shutdown, rather than used as a replacement date for it.

Historical payments, support and outstanding balances

The former British service was described as Visa-debit based, with withdrawals taking up to five working days and support through email or a contact form. The old account also referred to a possible 24-hour reply period and did not identify telephone or live-chat support. Those details describe the closed product. They are not current processing promises, and no successful withdrawal or response time has been personally timed for this review.

For an unresolved historical balance, the useful evidence is the original account correspondence, transaction reference, amount, date and the operator named in the account terms. A different website carrying the same brand name is not proof that the account or liability has transferred. Keep the distinction between a payment request awaiting operator action and a payment already released to a bank when describing the problem.

The Commission’s closure guidance expects clear customer communication, attempts to meet liabilities, a continuing contact route for unclaimed funds and access to alternative dispute resolution. A review headed “Stake” may concern the former British site, an international service or a different period. Domain, operator and review date are therefore essential context before comparing complaints about payment methods, bonuses or support.
